NOTICE RE: SCAN LIGHT R G B

::ADJUSTING THE SCANNER LIGHT::

The CINTEL scanner offers control over the exposure and temperature of the scanning light to maximize the amount of information extracted from each frame (preventing image clipping). THE GOAL OF THESE ADJUSTMENTS IS NOT for creating the final look of the clips; that step is accomplished later during your grading/timing phase.

How often color and exposure needs adjusting depends on the variety in the scenes on your reel(s). It is recommended to follow best exposure practice while shooting to minimize processing and scanning problems. If your footage needs special attention, it may be necessary to fine-tune the scanner light on a clip-by-clip basis. Please indicate this in the 'SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS' block at the end of the form.

::CALCULATING STORAGE NEEDS::

You will probably need a lot of storage; delivery of LOSSLESS RAW, LOSSY RAW or both will determine this. 4TB drives are a good start; however, if you wanted 80,000FT of 4-perf 35mm film scanned Lossless RAW, you might want a 16TB RAID array; it all depends on your workflow. Use our calculator to tally your approximate number of FRAMES and how much DATA they will generate. For smaller jobs you may try cloud storage.
